Manage payments, captures and refunds¶
Open a Saferpay order under Orders in PrestaShop. Its Saferpay panel shows payment status, status reason, transaction references, payment method, capture information and a transaction history.
The panel appears for orders paid through this mame Saferpay module. A transaction reference identifies the payment; the PrestaShop order state describes the shop workflow. Compare both when investigating a payment.

Insert the Saferpay panel of a synthetic order with payment status, capture information, amount input, action buttons and transaction history visible. Replace transaction/alias references with obvious demo values and crop customer details. Suggested filename: order-payment-en.png.
Check the latest status¶
Click Check status to retrieve the latest payment state. Compare it with the mame transaction and, where necessary, the Saferpay back office. Browser returns and server notifications may arrive at different times.
If an action times out or its outcome is unclear, check the status and transaction history before repeating it. A button being visible does not mean the current payment method or transaction state permits that operation.
Capture an authorization¶
- Check that the payment is authorized and still eligible for capture.
- For a partial capture, enter the intended amount in the displayed order currency. Use a decimal point, for example
25.50. - Choose Capture and confirm the action.
- Check the resulting payment/capture status and transaction history.
Leaving the amount empty requests the default capture amount from the payment service. Confirm the intended remaining authorization before using this option. Partial capture support and subsequent operations depend on the payment method and transaction state.
Cancel an uncaptured authorization¶
Choose Cancel and confirm only when the payment is still eligible for cancellation. The amount field does not define a partial cancellation. After capture, a refund is normally the relevant operation; cancellation availability varies by method.
This action concerns the payment. Handle the corresponding PrestaShop order, stock and customer communication according to your shop's process.
Refund a captured payment¶
- Use Check status and verify the captured amount and any previous refunds.
- Enter the intended refund amount in the order currency, for example
10.00. A positive amount is required. - Click Refund and review the confirmation.
- Check the provider result and transaction history. A refund is subject to the method's support and remaining refundable amount.
The Saferpay action returns money through the payment service. Check any required PrestaShop credit slip, accounting correction and stock handling separately; do not assume a payment refund completes those shop tasks. Do not submit a second payment refund while creating a credit slip for an already refunded payment.
See Saferpay's refund documentation for method-dependent limitations.

Insert a controlled test transaction's history after a confirmed capture or refund, with the amount, currency and result visible. Use the provider's agreed test environment; do not execute a live financial action solely for a screenshot. Suggested filename: transaction-history-en.png.
