Install and connect the module

Use Connect with mame to link your shop, select its payment configuration and activate the module license without copying connection credentials manually.

Requirements

  • A PrestaShop back-office account with permission to install and configure modules.
  • The Saferpay for PrestaShop ZIP and a valid license for this shop.
  • A mame account with an active Saferpay payment configuration and a store with an active terminal, or permission to complete their setup.
  • HTTPS for the shop, outbound HTTPS access to mame and incoming access for payment notifications.
  • A PHP version supported by your PrestaShop version, with cURL and OpenSSL. Automatic connection requires at least PHP 7.1; newer PrestaShop versions require newer PHP versions.

The module declares support from PrestaShop 1.7 onwards. Check the requirements of the supplied release and your shop before installing. Back up the shop files and database first.

1. Install Saferpay

  1. Open Modules → Module Manager in the back office.
  2. Choose Upload a module and upload the ZIP supplied by mame.
  3. Complete installation, find Saferpay and choose Configure.
  4. If you use multistore, select the individual shop to configure. The connection assistant cannot run in the All shops or shop-group context.

Insert the local Module Manager with Saferpay, its version and Configure visible. Crop out the employee profile and unrelated modules. Suggested filename: installation-en.png.

2. Launch the connection assistant

  1. Click Connect with mame on the module settings page.
  2. Allow the popup and sign in to your mame account.
  3. Keep the original PrestaShop settings page open while completing setup.

The Saferpay in mame link on the same page opens your Saferpay application separately. Start the connection from Connect with mame so the assistant can return the selected connection to this shop.

Insert the upper module settings area showing Not connected, Connect with mame and the collapsed Manual connection settings. Use a test shop and keep all credential fields closed. Suggested filename: connect-en.png.

3. Select the payment configuration and store

In the mame window, select the active Saferpay payment configuration and then the store intended for this shop. If the assistant offers creation, complete the configuration/store form and review the displayed terms and fees before accepting.

Compare the store's shop URL, payment configuration and terminal, rather than its name alone. The assistant lists your owned stores and suggests matching URLs first. An inactive or incomplete store cannot be selected.

Selecting an existing store from a different payment configuration uses that store's existing configuration; it does not move the store. Review the warning before continuing. A store is the merchant/shop record in mame; its terminal identifies the corresponding Saferpay connection.

Insert the assistant's store-selection step with a synthetic shop URL, configuration and terminal labels. Show one selectable store and, if useful, one unavailable store. Do not show credentials or address-bar setup tokens. Suggested filename: select-store-en.png.

4. Select the license and finish

Choose the valid Saferpay for PrestaShop license for the shop and approve the connection. Return to PrestaShop and wait for the saved-connection message. Use Refresh connection and payment methods when offered.

The module saves the connection and synchronizes the selected store's payment methods. Continue with Payment methods and checkout settings: synchronization alone does not enable every separate checkout option.

If the popup closes without completion, reopen it from the module. If setup has expired or settings changed in another tab, start a fresh connection from the current settings page.

Insert the license-selection/approval step using a masked demo license, followed by the module showing Connected to mame. Never include license keys, client secrets, webhook keys or setup URLs. Suggested filenames: license-en.png, connected-en.png.

Manual connection

Use Manual connection settings if the guided connection is unavailable or support asks you to use it.

Field What to enter
Saferpay license key Your Saferpay for PrestaShop license; use Activate license
API Client ID / API Client Secret The Saferpay API client from your mame account
Webhook key The matching mame connection's notification key
Saferpay store Synchronize the stores, then select the intended store

These are mame connection credentials, not your Worldline/Saferpay back-office password or provider API credentials. Keep the secrets private. Saved secret fields remain empty; leaving them empty preserves the saved value.

Enter and save the connection details, activate the license, choose Synchronize stores, select the intended store and save again. Check store availability and enable the desired methods. If no stores appear, follow Troubleshooting.

Multistore and reconnecting

Repeat setup in each individual shop context with its intended URL, store and license entitlement. Do not assume the connection selected in one shop applies to every shop. Use Reconnect with mame to replace or repair a connection, then review the synchronized methods and checkout in that shop.

Finish with the test checklist before accepting customer payments.
